The 8th International Industry-University-Research Cooperation Forum and Transnational Technology Transfer Conference of Jiangsu

The 8th China-Jiangsu International Industry-University-Research Cooperation Forum and Transnational Technology Transfer Conference was successfully held from November 9 to 11, 2022. The conference will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province; organized by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province; co-organized by the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province and the Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province. The conference will be held in a combination of online and offline modes, with the offline main venue located in Nanjing. Vice Minister of Science and Technology Zhang Guangjun delivered a video speech, and Vice Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government Hu Guangjie attended the conference and delivered a speech. Wang Qin, Director general of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, Guo Liping, deputy director general attended the conference. Mr. Sun Jian, Deputy Director General of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Mr. Zhuang Jia, Deputy Director General of China Center for Science and Technology Exchange attended the conference online.

On the afternoon of November 9th, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Innovation Community Collaborative Open Innovation Forum, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Norway Innovation Agency renewed the memorandum of science and technology cooperation, to continue the implementation of industrial research and development cooperation co-funding program. Officials from Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology, as well as foreign guests from Finland, Norway, Thailand, Singapore and other countries attended the meeting online and made speeches. Representatives from National Technology Innovation Center of Yangtze River Delta, University of Sydney in Australia, and Fraunhofer Association for the Promotion of Applied Research in Germany made speeches and exchanges on site. Representatives from relevant Chinese and foreign government departments, enterprises, universities and institutions, international technology transfer service agencies, relevant embassies and consulates in China and Chinese embassies and consulates abroad attended the conference in the main venue in Nanjing or through online means.

For the first time, the conference will be jointly hosted by three provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Delta. It is a landmark international exchange event in 2022, as defined by the task of building the Yangtze River Delta Science, Technology and Innovation Community. With the theme of “Opening up and Innovating the Yangtze River Delta for New Opportunities for Common Development”, the conference will actively integrate the channel resources of international science and technology cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta, focus on serving the innovation needs of enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, and build a pragmatic and efficient platform for transnational technology exchange and negotiation.

The conference focused on intelligent manufacturing, green technology, digital technology, biomedicine and smart agriculture, and organized technical exchanges in four areas. First, the “Cloud Road show” for foreign technology projects was held in 10 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Finland, South Korea, Norway, Spain, Singapore and Hungary. Second, “cloud release” of technical cooperation information. 15 international technology transfer service organizations, including the Suzhou Research Institute of the National University of Singapore, Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center of the University of Cambridge, and National Technology Transfer East Center, were organized to release technical cooperation information in a centralized way. Third, the “small but beautiful” livelihood science and technology project “Cloud Exchange”. Our province released nearly 30 advanced and applicable technologies in agriculture, health, environmental protection and other fields that meet the sustainable development needs of the “Belt and Road” countries, and invited relevant institutions of Thailand, Laos and other “Belt and Road” countries to participate in the exchange. Fourth, online one-to-one “cloud negotiation” between Chinese and foreign institutions. More than 1,000 representatives of Chinese and foreign institutions registered on the cloud docking platform of the Congress to seek partners.

Special events were broadcast live online, attracting more than 1.4 million viewers at home and abroad.
