Nanjing Delegation Successfully Attended – The 2023 Digital Almaty Forum
On February 2-3, the Digital Almaty Forum, one of the most prestigious international exchange events in Central Asia, which was held this year at the Atakent Centre of Almaty, Kazakhstan. Opening the session, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alihan Smaylov, delivered a speech, highlighting the going importance central Asia on the new digital silk road. This event also invited heads of governments across the regions including Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia to attend. A total of 29 series events with over 150 speakers including representatives from major global corporations from China, bringing together 30,000 participants from more than 30 countries, representing over 400 major companies.
In light of the strategic relationship between China and Kazakhstan, the Nanjing delegation group, supported by Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau attended the event as to strengthening the innovation collabrations between Nanjing and the Silk Road Regions.
Nanjing set up a specialized booth in the “Exhibition of Country Technology Parks” to showcase Nanjing’s achievements in software sector, as well as introducing the “GO Nanjing” program, to help attract projects and talents across CIS regions. Many international visitors showed great interests in Nanjing and requested follow-up meetings for further communication.
At the same time, Peter Tensen, CEO of Globaltech IP and his colleague, Kristina Rayko attended the event and presented on Feb 3rd at the high-level Panel “Tech Parks as an Economic Catalyst: Strategies and Tools”. On this Panel, Peter had an inspiring dialogue with experts from Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and other countries in the area of digital tech, sharing the global insights about the features of China and Nanjing High-tech Parks, including China (Nanjing) Soft Valley and Nanjing Jianye High-tech Zone. Mr Tensen emphasized during this session the pivot roles of these parks in driving Nanjing’s success as a major software hub in China.
Next, Nanjing will take this Forum as an opportunity to strengthen innovation collaborations with the Belt & Road countries, exploring international joint R&D, market and business cooperation, and further facilitate two-way exchanges between Nanjing and more parks and projects along the Belt & Road corridors. As a result, the Reciprocal delegations and agreements are already being planned.
